"Winchester Padlocks - Fantasies and Reproductions"
Fantasy padlocks are designs that
were never originally made for the Winchester.
Reproductions are copies of the original design made for the Winchester. You can easily see the differences in a side-by-side comparison. The only
reproduction that I know of is the "SIX LEVER" #632.

"PROPERTY OF DEBARTLABERIN MINING CO. CORDOVA ALA." - Fantasy.
Brass.
Lever.
"PWL" in an oval is stamped on the obverse of the key.
"3" is stamped on the reverse of the key.
The "Debartlaberin" name is not recorded at the Alabama Mining Museum. A side note: "Debardeleben Coal Co." operated coal mines in Walker and Jefferson County Alabama, including mines in Cordova and Bessemer. This is the only one that I have seen so far, and for now I am calling it a fantasy padlock ... April 2007. <<<This Padlock Requires Further Research>>> |
