"Story Padlocks - Japanese Pattern"

There is a correlation between the obverse designs and the case diameter: Obverse 1 = 2 1/4" and the odd ball 2 1/8", Obverse 2 = 2 1/2", and Obverse 3 = 2".

Interestingly the Patent Model for this lock does not match any of the known locks.

	Japanese Pattern - Obverse 1 - Reverse 1 - Iron - 2 1/4". 3" high x 2.243" wide x .580" deep.  Iron case. Iron shackle. Black enamel background finish. The black enamel background finish does not appear in the R&E catalogs. Solid barrel key nickel plated. The R&E Co. trademark is cast on the obverse of the case above the keyway. The hollow barrel key does not appear in the R&E catalogs. "PAT. JULY 29-79" is stamped on the obverse of the shackle. The R&E Co. trademark is cast on the obverse of the case above the keyway.
