"Curator"

Universal Identification Number (UIN)

Each lock in the database is assigned a unique Universal Identification Number (UIN).
This number is kept track of in a simple text file: root/curator/last_uin_issued.txt. In the future the UIN will be used as the primary key in a SQL database.
