"SIMMON'S WIRELESS" also known as "Titanic SOS".
2 13/16" high x 2" wide. Brass case. Brass shackle. Keyway: Flat. 1 Lever, 4 Wards.
The patent was applied for on April 28, 1910 and issued on January 17, 1911. This padlock was offered in the Simmons Hardware Co. catalogs of 1910 thru 1917.
The Titanic sank on April 15, 1912 which leads me believe that this padlock was
adopted as the commemorative for the Titanic instead of being made to
commemorate the Titanic.
